BUSES IN FERNWOOD
Fernwood’s first ever all day and evening bus service launched in January 2024.
The Vectare 90 has a timetable of fifteen buses a day operating roughly hourly from early morning until late evening Mondays-Saturdays.
The bus picks up on the Great North Road opposite the village green (Tawny Owl side).
The service runs via London Road to Newark bus station, then on to Farndon, East Stoke, Bingham, West Bridgeford for Trent Bridge and the Nottingham Forest and Notts County football grounds and on to Nottingham city centre and the railway station.

Payment is by cash (change is given) or contactless and well behaved accompanied dogs are welcome.
Regular travellers may find the myTrip app (yellow logo), with its live tracker, useful.
Most of the buses on this route have USB charging points behind the seats, so make sure you have your charging cable with you to keep topped up.
FARES AND DISCOUNTS:
The £2 single journey fare cap applies to all journeys on the above services until the end of December 2024.
Concessionary passes can also be used subject to the usual time of day restrictions.
THE NEWARK ALL-ROUNDER
This is a brand new discount ticket which enables you to hop on and off multiple buses including those of different operators in and around Newark for a considerably reduced price.
The adult price is £4.20 for the day, £16 for the week.
Ages 19-21 inclusive you will pay £3.40 a day, £12.80 a week.
For ages up to and including 18 the cost is £2.30 a day, £10.70 a week.
The Newark All-Rounder is available on the Vectare, Centrebus and Gem services serving Fernwood.

Centrebus 24 runs from Grantham bus station via the Downtown retail outlet and Long Bennington village to Fernwood and Newark bus station.
There are three buses each way each day Mondays to Saturdays.
In Fernwood they pick up on the Great North Road - village green side for Grantham services, Tawny Owl side for London Road and Newark bus station.

Payment is by cash or contactless. Drivers carry only a limited amount of change. If they have insufficient, you will be offered a change voucher which can be used to pay for future journeys or to claim a refund.
Well behaved accompanied dogs are welcome.

Gem 341 runs from Fernwood via Balderton and Newark town centre to Newark Castle Gate close to Boar Lane and the Castle Grounds.
There are four buses each way each day Mondays to Fridays and one on a Saturday.
The Gem services are the ONLY buses that currently run directly through Fernwood village picking up on Dale Way adjacent to Gilbert Way, the Clock Tower, opposite Youngs Avenue and just before the Tawny roundabout on Goldstraw Lane.

Payment on Gem services is by cash only and dogs are not allowed.
The Kesteven Callconnect is operated by Lincolnshire County Council and runs Mondays-Fridays 7am-7pm, Saturdays 8am-6pm.
It’s an on demand service so doesn’t have a published timetable.
Kesteven Connect offers Fernwood residents a village connected service to Claypole, Dry Doddington, Long Bennington, Gonerby Moore and on to the Downtown retail outlet and return.
Fernwood residents can only use the Kesteven Connect for journeys to and from Lincolnshire postcodes.
