Chairman of Fernwood Council, Councillor Barry Smith, said: "Fernwood Parish Council offers its condolences to the Royal Family on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her duty, service and devotion to the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth was unparalleled. We have lived in a truly golden Elizabethan age, the likes of which we will never see again. Fernwood Parish Council joins with people around the world in mourning her loss.”

Physical books of condolence will be available at the following:
Newark and Sherwood District Council's Book of Condolence is located in Castle House reception and will be open from 9am to 5pm over the weekend (10 and 11 September) for people to sign and from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
St Mary Magdalene Church, Newark with have its Book of Condolence available at the following times:
Friday 9 September 9am to 5pm
Saturday 10 September 9am to 3pm
